Queen Camilla is reportedly stepping back temporarily from her royal duties after shouldering increased responsibilities in recent weeks. According to Hello!, Camilla will take a week-long break, free of engagements, before resuming her duties on March 11, when she is set to lead the Royal Family at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. In her absence, other senior royals will fill in as needed.

The decision comes amid health challenges faced by senior royals. King Charles has been undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer after being diagnosed last month. While the exact nature and stage of his illness remain undisclosed, Charles has continued to split his time between London and the royal estate at Sandringham. The King recently expressed gratitude for the overwhelming public support he has received, admitting it has moved him to tears.

Additionally, Kate Middleton has been recovering from a planned abdominal procedure that required a 13-day hospital stay in January. She is expected to return to royal duties only after Easter.

During this time, Camilla has taken on more responsibilities, including representing the royals at the late King Constantine of Greece’s memorial service. Her brief respite is expected to provide some much-needed rest, which she plans to spend with King Charles and other family members.
