Queen Camilla, 77, continues to recover from a persistent chest infection that began in early November. Despite initial optimism from Buckingham Palace about her recovery, the queen admitted the illness is still “hanging on for a little bit.”
Her illness forced her to miss several events, including the Royal Film Performance of Gladiator II on November 13, leaving King Charles to attend alone. Earlier in the month, Camilla also missed the Cenotaph Remembrance Sunday service, where King Charles laid a wreath on behalf of the nation. Other royals, including Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the Duchess of Gloucester, stepped in to fulfill her duties at various engagements.
Camilla briefly resumed public appearances, hosting the Booker Prize ceremony on November 12. However, she left before the winner was announced, explaining she was still recovering and dealing with lingering symptoms. She expressed optimism, saying, “I think I’m on the mend… but these things always take a bit of time.”
Meanwhile, King Charles, 75, has been balancing his royal commitments while undergoing cancer treatment. Despite her setbacks, the queen remains hopeful of returning to her full schedule soon, while the royal family continues to support her during this challenging time.
