Toby Keith is fighting for his life.

Toby Keith recently revealed that he has been battling stomach cancer since the fall of 2021, sharing his journey of treatment and recovery with fans. The Oklahoma-born musician disclosed via social media that he has undergone six months of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. “So far, so good,” he wrote. Keith expressed gratitude to his supporters and stated, “I need time to breathe, recover, and relax. But I’ll see the fans sooner than later—I can’t wait.”

Keith’s upcoming performances remain uncertain. His website lists a June 17 concert in Wheaton, Illinois, though his July 28 show at the Ohio State Fair has been postponed. Publicist Elaine Schock confirmed some tour dates will be canceled but did not specify which ones.

Last year, Keith released his album Peso in My Pocket, drawing inspiration from running sessions during the pandemic. “I’d reflect on song ideas during runs, then record them afterward. It was a great time for me to write,” he shared.

A celebrated artist with 32 #1 singles, Keith received the National Medal of Arts in 2021. Beyond music, he’s a staunch advocate for cancer patients, founding the Toby Keith Foundation in 2006 to support pediatric cancer care. Fans worldwide continue to rally behind him during this challenging time.
