Karoline Leavitt made history on Tuesday as the youngest White House press secretary, stepping into the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room to deliver her first remarks. At just 27, the New Hampshire native emphasized the administration’s commitment to communication and transparency.

Before this role, Leavitt was a spokesperson for Trump’s 2024 campaign, becoming a familiar media presence. Now, she replaces Ronald Ziegler as the youngest press secretary, surpassing his record at age 29 in 1969 under Nixon.

At the podium, she highlighted Trump’s dedication to fulfilling campaign promises and reaffirmed the administration’s openness to traditional and alternative media, including independent journalists, podcasters, and influencers. “You’ll be hearing from both him and me as much as possible,” she assured reporters.

Leavitt is also the sixth consecutive working mother to hold the position. Just days after giving birth to her son in July 2024, she returned to work following the attempted assassination of Trump. “Leaving the baby every day is heartbreaking,” she admitted.

Married to real estate investor Nicholas Riccio, Leavitt keeps her personal life mostly private. Trump has praised her as “smart, tough,” and “highly effective,” expressing confidence in her ability to communicate his message and vision for America.
