A NOTE FROM THE DELIVERY GUY MADE ME INSTALL SECURITY CAMERAS AROUND MY HOUSE – I’LL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL TO HIM. I often order food delivery when I’m too tired to cook for my kids, and over time, we got close with the delivery guy in our area. However, the last time he arrived, he seemed nervous and fidgety. Instead of talking to my little ones, as he usually does, and high-fiving them before leaving, he shoved the food into my hands and rushed back to his car. Stunned and confused, I watched him drive away. As I brought the food into the kitchen, still wondering what his deal was, I happened to look at the back of the bag—and froze. In shaky handwriting, there was a message that made me forget about lunch and everything else. I rushed to the backyard. MY HEART SANK when I threw open the trash can lid, and there, saw ⬇️

A hurried note on a delivery bag sent me rushing to my backyard, where I made a chilling discovery. Our regular delivery driver, Ravi, had left an urgent message:

**“CHECK YOUR TRASH CAN.”**

As a single mother, I often rely on food delivery. Ravi wasn’t just a familiar face—he always greeted my kids, Kai and Isla, with high-fives. But last Tuesday, something was off. He arrived tense, handed me the order without a word, and quickly left.

Puzzled, I set the food down and spotted his note. My heart pounded as I ushered the kids out of the kitchen and hurried to the backyard. The first trash can held nothing unusual, but in the second, wrapped in an old blanket, were gloves, small tools, and an unlabeled bottle of unknown liquid.

Panic gripped me.

“Mom? Are you okay?” Isla’s voice startled me. I forced a smile. “Just checking something. Go back inside.”

As soon as she left, I called the sheriff. “Leona, I found something disturbing in my trash.”

Her tone shifted. “Do not touch anything. Stay indoors with the kids. I’m on my way.”

Our neighborhood had been hit by break-ins—locks compromised with chemicals, no trace left behind. A terrifying realization dawned: my home was next.

That night, sleep eluded me. Every creak in the house made me jump. By morning, I had a security company installing cameras. As they worked, Leona arrived. “The liquid you found is a powerful corrosive—used to break locks.”

A chill ran through me. “So someone was planning to break in.”

Leona nodded. “You acted fast. We’re increasing patrols, and your security system is in place.”

Then, I saw Ravi arriving at a neighbor’s house. “He’s here.”

“Be careful,” Leona warned.

I approached him. Before I could speak, he apologized. “I saw strangers messing with your trash. I wanted to warn you but feared they were still watching.”

Relief flooded me. “Ravi, you may have saved my family. Thank you.”

That night, I stared at the new security monitors. The streets looked empty, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was still out there—watching, waiting. But I wasn’t alone. Ravi’s warning, Leona’s dedication, and my own instincts had turned a potential nightmare into a story of vigilance and unexpected allies.

Now, I had to stay ready.
