I ACCIDENTALLY FOUND OUT THAT MY NEIGHBORS USED MY HOT TUB FOR MORE THAN A YEAR WITHOUT ME KNOWING – I TAUGHT THEM A LESSON THEY WON’T EVER FORGET My husband Tom and I bought our dream house with an awesome backyard and a hot tub. Recently, our neighbor Lisa asked if we could keep it down in the evenings. I was like, “What night are you talking about?” She said there was loud music and shouting from our yard on Sunday night. But we were out of town on Sunday, which was super weird. After Lisa’s comment, we decided to dig a little deeper. We set up a hidden camera overlooking the hot tub and took a short trip the next weekend, leaving the house empty. When we got back and checked the footage, we were shocked. I never thought my quiet neighborhood hid secrets—until I discovered our neighbors had been using our hot tub for a year without our knowledge.

Tom and I bought our dream home, complete with a hot tub we used regularly. But this year, work kept us busy, and the tub sat unused. One day, Lisa, our neighbor, complained about loud weekend parties in our backyard. Confused, since we were always away, we set up a hidden camera.

The footage shocked us: Jim, Lisa, and their kids lounging in our hot tub, laughing like it was theirs. Furious, we installed an automatic lock and added harmless dye to the water, turning skin green after prolonged use.

Pretending to leave again, we watched them return. As their skin turned green, panic set in. We confronted them, showing the footage. Embarrassed, they fled.

Later, I posted the video in our neighborhood group, sparking stories of Jim’s similar behavior. Digging deeper, I learned he was running an illegal “Airbnb,” using neighborhood amenities for his guests.

The police arrested him for fraud and trespassing. Afterward, Jim’s family moved out, and our neighborhood grew closer, ensuring such betrayal wouldn’t happen again.
