Doctors are ‘truly amazed’ by what has happened 😮…Details in the first comment👇

Aaron James, a 46-year-old U.S. veteran, survived a severe electrical accident in 2021 that caused catastrophic facial injuries. After losing most of his face, he underwent a groundbreaking 21-hour surgery, becoming the first person to receive a full-eye and facial tissue transplant.

Over a year later, the transplanted eye shows promising signs, including proper blood flow and pressure. Surgeons also injected stem cells, hoping to regenerate Aaron’s optic nerve. Although he currently cannot see from the eye, doctors are optimistic about future vision restoration.

Researchers at NYU Langone Health found that light-sensitive nerves in the eye survived, offering hope for sight. Lead surgeon Dr. Eduardo D. Rodriguez praised Aaron’s recovery, noting no episodes of rejection.

Aaron expressed gratitude for his second chance at life, calling it “the most transformative year” of his life.
